Before being selected as a NASA Space Shuttle pilot in 1996, Kelly flew combat missions during the Gulf War as a naval aviator. He was born in the city of Orange New Jersey United States in 1964, currently 58 years.
He became a naval aviator and received initial training on the A-6E Intruder attack aircraft. Mark was then assigned to Attack Squadron 115 VA-115 in Atsugi, Japan, and made two deployments to the Persian Gulf on the aircraft carrier USS Midway, flying 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm.
